If you notice I talk a lot about feelings and mompreneurs. I love talking about feelings and digging deep with myself and others about them, I don’t think we talk about feeling enough. It’s like feelings are something we only talk about when we’re pissed or fed up. I want to change that paradigm to where mompreneurs are beginning to check in with their feelings first.
I used to only express two feelings, mildly disgusted and severely pissed off. Neither one was an awesome space to be in. I didn’t grow up in an environment where expressing emotions was celebrated. Things like expressing joy, gratitude, or any other positive emotion were seen as you were not being authentic because no one could be that happy all the time. Top that with working in corporate for over 15 years where emotions on women are even less encouraged.
Well, one day I got sick and tired of always feeling sick and tired. I had seen others live this life that was filled with love and joy and I wanted some of that bad. I knew they weren’t much smarter than me so I set out to find “happy”. The first book I was lead to was Deepak Chopra’s, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success and it opened me up like never before and I wanted more. Fast forward 15 years and I got my heads on Danielle LaPorte’s The Desire Map it was like the bow that tied the present together.
Once I discovered how to use these methods to grow my business without sacrificing my personal and family life I wanted to get out into the world to share this with other mompreneurs that were facing a similar struggle, building a business with minimal mom guilt and burnout.
Watch the video below to learn why feelings are so important and some ways you can tap into your feelings each day to produce a higher quality day.
This is why getting down into your feeling is the first part of any coaching session that I do because until you know how you want to feel and you know how to express that and have it show up in your life, no matter what you place on your to-do list isn’t going to make you feel good.
It’s going to feel forced, stressed, frustrating anything but expansive, joyful, honorable. I want mom entrepreneurs to experience the fullness of life, not just the bits left over after everyone else’s shit is done.
It is possible to love and support your family fully while building a business. It is possible to build your business without burning out. It is possible to love your kids, yourself and your business while maintaining a healthy marriage. It’s possible.
You’re worthy of the above and so much more.
Over to you
